Bill Bartoswicz moved to Coos Bay in 2005 and joined our turners club in 2006.
He has been turning for 35 years.
Bill grew up in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. After high school he enlisted in the Navy/Seabees. During his four years tour of duty he was never aboard a ship but worked as a carpenter and in Vietnam as a bridge builder.
Bill is a master at polychromatic woodturning: bowls, vases and containers, handcrafted one at a time. Each is drawn on graph paper, followed by an elevation view including the segment pattern, so measurements can be taken directly from the drawing. These are turned on the lathe, often using Indian pottery as design elements. The results are truly stunning.
